Show & Tell

In 2024, Ashley Seryn, a Los Angeles based photographer, teamed up with CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) to craft a unique zine that illuminates the essence of Asian excellence in entertainment. This collaborative project delves into the personal narratives of notable Asian figures in the industry, inviting them to share a cherished personal object and the profound story behind its significance. Through intimate portraits and compelling anecdotes, the zine captures the multifaceted identities and journeys of its subjects. Each participant offers a glimpse into their personal history, using their chosen object as a lens through which to reflect on heritage, passion, and the evolving landscape of Asian representation in entertainment. The design of the final project is meant to be minimal, ultimately highlighting the beautiful photography, but still allowing the stories of each participant to shine through.
